In April 2005, the Government of Ontario and the Government of the State of Israel signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on industrial and technological development cooperation. Under this agreement, the two governments have committed to strengthen and promote industrial partnerships and project collaborations that are of mutual interest and benefit to Ontario and Israeli companies.
CIIRDF has been designated by the Governments of Ontario and Israel as the implementing agency for the MOU. In this capacity, CIIRDF aims to:
- Help Ontario and Israeli companies find strategic partners for innovation projects
- Facilitate joint industrial R&D projects engaging Ontario and Israeli companies that are eligible for financial support by the two governments
- Organize Ontario-Israeli workshops in areas of mutual interest
- Undertake other initiatives to promote potential opportunities for Ontario-Israeli collaboration
