For Ontario - Israel Collaboration Program (OICP)
Coorperation between Government of Ontario and the State of Israel

In April 2005, the Government of Ontario and the Government of the State of Israel signed a Memorandum of Understanding on industrial and technological development cooperation. Under this agreement, the two governments have committed to strengthen and promote industrial partnerships and project collaborations that are of mutual interest and benefit to Ontario and Israeli companies.

The Canada-Israel Industrial R&D Foundation (CIIRDF) has been designated by the Governments of Ontario and Israel as the implementing agency for the MOU. In this capacity, CIIRDF aims to:

  • Help Ontario and Israeli companies find strategic partners for innovation projects
  • Facilitate joint industrial R&D projects engaging Ontario and Israeli companies that are eligible for financial support by the two governments
  • Organize Ontario-Israeli workshops in areas of mutual interest
  • Undertake other initiatives to promote potential opportunities for Ontario-Israeli collaboration
Call for Proposals (CFP) for Collaborative R&D Projects

Ontario and Israel-based companies are invited to submit new joint R&D project proposals for funding. (Please note that companies cannot apply for Ontario-Israel Call for Proposals and Canada-Isarel Call for Proposals simultaneously.)

• Successful Ontario applicants are eligible to receive up to $300,000 CAD or up to 50% of the R&D costs of technology-based products and processes (whichever is less) from CIIRDF (Ministry of Research and Innovation, Government of Ontario) to fund the Ontario portion of each project.

• Successful Israeli applicants are eligible to receive funding from the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS), Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, Israel (MOITAL), to support the Israel portion of the project under OICP. The level of funding will be determined by R&D Review Committee of the OCS.
